Vent: My buddy laughed at me for bringing a cast iron skillet camping, then he ate his burnt scrambled eggs out of a plastic bag
He said 'dude it's too heavy' but after watching me make perfect pancakes on day two he shut up, and now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who drags the heavier gear for better camp meals?

Last time I did that I forgot my spatula and used a stick to flip the pancakes, still came out better than my buddy's gas station burrito breakfast though. He finally admitted the cast iron makes cleanup way easier too since you can just scrape it clean with a paper towel.

Sticks work in a pinch though.

Wait, you scraped a cast iron pan clean with just a paper towel? That sounds fake lol. Every time I try that I end up with little bits of paper stuck all over the surface. I have to scrub mine with salt and a potato half or something just to get it clean. My buddy swears by chainmail scrubbers but those things scratch the seasoning off. Honestly a stiff plastic brush and hot water never fails for me, paper towels just turn into a shredded mess.
