Vent: my cheap 2 person tent from Walmart failed in 40 mph gusts at Great Basin and I'm done defending it
I swore by my $38 Ozark Trail for 3 seasons because it never leaked once, but a storm hit our site at Great Basin in Nevada and two poles snapped clean while my buddy's REI tent just leaned and held. I sat in the truck at 2am holding the fly down with both hands while rain came in sideways. Guess I was wrong about cheap tents being just as good. Anyone got a recommendation for a sub $200 tent that actually handles real wind?
