Watched a guy at the Richmond terminal load my car on the top rack wrong, and now I always ask one question
I was picking up my Civic at a terminal near Richmond about 6 months ago and watched the yard guy drive it up the ramp onto the top rack of the carrier. He had the parking brake set but kept the transmission in gear too, which is not how I have ever seen it done. When I asked the dispatcher about it, he told me their rule is both, always, no exceptions. So now every time I book a carrier, I ask if they run stick or auto and if they use both brake and gear, and I have not had a single scratch or roll issue since. Does anyone else quiz the dispatcher like this or am I being that annoying customer?
