Tbh my storage unit in Phoenix hit 118 degrees last July and I thought my soft top was gonna melt. I bought a 30 dollar dehumidifier pack set from Home Depot and ran a temp sensor for 5 days straight. The inside stayed at 89 but the mildew smell finally disappeared. Has anyone else dealt with desert heat wrecking their interior plastic trim?
Phoenix heat is no joke, that 118 sounds like you were basically slow roasting the poor thing. A 30 dollar dehumidifier pack doing more work than my entire AC unit did last summer is kinda sad when you think about it. My dash cracked into a spider web pattern two summers back and the plastic around my shifter got so soft it left a imprint of my hand in it. At least you killed the mildew smell, that alone is worth the 30 bucks.
