Dropped $1,200 on a coding bootcamp in Austin and got a job making $2 more an hour
I paid $1,200 upfront for a 12 week web dev bootcamp in Austin back in 2023, and the only job I landed after was a help desk gig that paid $2 more an hour than my old retail job. Some folks in my cohort swear the networking alone was worth it, while others say free YouTube courses would've taught the same HTML and CSS for zero dollars. If you've done a bootcamp, did it ever pay off or would you tell people to skip it and grind free stuff instead?
