Hit my first 5-figure freelance month and it totally shifted how I think about income goals
I've been freelancing in graphic design for about 3 years now, and my goal was always to hit $10,000 in a single month. Thought it would be some kind of magic number where everything feels secure and easy. Last month I actually hit $10,800, and honestly, it didn't feel like I expected. The extra work was exhausting - I took on way too many clients and ended up working 60 hour weeks. What convinced me I was wrong about that milestone was realizing the stress of juggling 8 projects at once wasn't worth the extra cash. Now I'm aiming for a steady $7,000 a month instead, with way less burnout. Has anyone else found that chasing big numbers backfired on their quality of life?
