Just realized my $80 'professional' headshot was taken against my neighbor's garage door

I needed a new LinkedIn photo fast for a job application, so I hired a photographer I found online who promised 'polished corporate portraits,' but the whole shoot was in my driveway and the final shot has a garden hose clearly visible over my shoulder, so has anyone else had a career purchase totally backfire like that?

Lol that's brutal, but honestly the garden hose adds some real blue collar credibility. I once paid a guy to "stage" my living room for selling my house and he just moved my own couch two feet to the left and charged me three hundred bucks. These "pro" services are a total gamble sometimes. At least your garage door probably has better lighting than some stuffy office.

Remember that trend of people selling rocks as pets? What if we just started staging houses with random junk from our garages?

Totally feel you on the staged couch move! I hired a "consultant" who told me to bake cookies before a showing, which just made my whole place smell like a burnt mess. Your garden hose story is way more honest than that. Some of these experts just recycle the same basic tips you could read online for free. I'd take a real, lived-in garage over a fake perfect room any day.
