My annual review showed I saved the company over $80,000 this year
I just got my performance feedback, and my manager highlighted a process change I suggested that cut our software licensing costs. I honestly didn't track the total savings, so seeing that big number on paper was a real shock. For those who have hit a big financial goal at work, how did you bring it up when asking for a raise?

Like scott.drew said, frame it as ongoing value.

Honestly that's a solid win, congrats lol. But saving the company money is kinda part of the job sometimes, right? They might just see it as you doing what you're paid to do already. I'd still bring it up for a raise talk, but maybe don't expect them to just hand over a huge bonus because of it.

Yeah Scott's point about them seeing it as just your job is dead on. My buddy saved his department like 20k on a software contract last year. He brought it up in his review and they basically said "good work, that's why we hired you." He still got a small bump but not the big win he hoped for. Gotta frame it as ongoing value, not a one-time thing.
