The 9-to-5 stability myth that crushed my savings goal

Everyone said a steady office job beats side hustling. I listened, took a full-time gig in Phoenix, and after 11 months my bank account grew slower than my part-time delivery gig did in 4. That salary was a trap, nice health insurance but zero raises despite hitting every target. Anyone else trade freedom for a paycheck and regret the math?

Whoa, hard disagree here lol. The 9-to-5 gave you a steady paycheck, but it sounds like you were just stuck in a job that didn't pay for good work. I did the opposite, I left a salary job to freelance, and let me tell you, the math only works if you're actually chasing the right clients. You probably just got a bad boss or a company that doesn't reward effort, not a bad system. Maybe the trap wasn't the job itself, it was that you picked the wrong one.
