The boss who yelled at me for asking a question about a delivery route
I was making a delivery in Austin last month and asked my supervisor if I could reroute to avoid a construction zone everyone knows about. He snapped at me, told me to just follow the GPS like everyone else. Has anyone else had a manager shut down a good idea just because it wasn't their own?

Last time I suggested a shortcut to my boss he told me to keep my day job and leave the navigating to GPS. Guess my career in logistics consulting never took off.

My buddy Mark tried to tell his foreman about a faster way to get to a job site once. He'd been driving that route for 10 years, knew every pothole and light cycle. Foreman told him to shut up and follow the GPS on the company truck. GPS took them down a dirt road that ended at a locked gate. Had to turn around on a narrow patch, almost got stuck in a ditch. Mark still brings it up at every cookout.

What is it with bosses acting like GPS is some sacred text? @williamm82 I feel your pain, I once asked my manager if I could skip a left turn because the light was broken and he told me "the GPS knows what it's doing." Spent 20 minutes stuck behind a bus in gridlock while my ice cream melted in the back. Guess my future as a delivery route optimizer was doomed before it started.
