Took 14 months to realize my resume was the problem, not my skills

I kept applying to jobs in Austin and getting nothing back, figured my experience was just weak or the market was bad. Then a recruiter friend looked at my resume and pointed out I was leading with old duties instead of recent wins, took her 5 minutes to spot it. Has anyone else ever had one small fix like that change their whole job hunt?
