Almost lost a finger on a table saw at a job site in Nashville last Tuesday

I was rushing to rip some oak trim for a bathroom remodel and let my push stick slip, and the saw kicked the board back so hard it splintered against my hand - has anyone else had a close call like that with a table saw?

Nah man, that's on you for rushing without a proper grip on that push stick.

Happened to me last year with a table saw kickback. I was rushing to finish a cabinet, didn't lock the push stick right, and the piece just launched. Spent the rest of the day pulling splinters out of my forearm and actually had to fix the damaged cut on the board. Learned that lesson the hard way, so I get it.

Start paying attention to how many people skip the safety steps because they're in a hurry. It's not just woodworking either, I see it at stop signs, in the kitchen with knife cuts, everywhere. We all know the right way to do something but cut corners when we're pressed for time. Funny how a five minute shortcut can turn into a five hour mess real quick.
