Dropped $340 on a sliding compound miter saw at a pawn shop in Reno, the base was warped
I was trimming out a closet build last month and grabbed a used 12 inch saw off the shelf because the price looked right. Got it home, set it up, and every crosscut came out about 1/16 inch off no matter how many times I squared the fence, turned out the table itself was slightly bowed. Anyone got a trick for checking a used saw's base before you hand over cash, or do I just eat the loss and go new next time?
