My miter saw stand gave out halfway through a big trim job
It happened last Thursday on a house in Bellingham. I was cutting 8 foot crown molding and the whole thing just folded, dropped the saw and snapped three pieces. The stand was a cheap one I bought 5 years ago, the locking pin sheared right off. I had to finish the day with the saw on the floor, my back is still killing me. What's a good heavy duty stand that can take real weight without costing a fortune?

Oh man, that's the worst! I had a cheap stand fail on me too, scared me half to death. Honestly, just bite the bullet and get a DeWalt stand, the heavy duty one. It's worth every penny for your back and your sanity.

Yeah, cheap stands are a disaster waiting to happen. My buddy's bargain-bin one folded up mid-cut and sent a circular saw skidding across his garage. We found it wedged behind the water heater.

My Harbor Freight stand lasted exactly three cuts.
