Pocket hole jig broke mid-build on a kitchen cabinet last Saturday

I was about 20 screws into assembling a set of uppers for a client in Oak Ridge when the drill bit snapped clean off inside the jig. That little spring loaded pin that centers the bit just gave up. I had to stop everything, dig out the broken bit with pliers, and finish the rest with my old school Kreg jig that I keep in the truck for backups. Took me an extra hour. Anyone else had issues with those cheap plastic guides on newer jigs?

Those plastic guides really don't hold up like the older metal ones.

Wait, the newer ones are plastic now? I had no idea they switched from metal, thats wild. Seriously, plastic guides probably snap if you bump em wrong, what a downgrade.
