Pro tip: don't buy a $45 coping sled before you check your saw's miter slot
I picked up a coping sled at the Rockler in St. Louis last month for $45 because my cope cuts on cabinet doors kept tearing out. Got it home and found out my old contractor saw's miter slot is 5/8 inch and the sled only fits 3/4, so it just sat in the box. I ended up building a simple jig from scrap plywood in about 20 minutes and the copes came out cleaner than the store one ever would have. Anyone know if the 3/4 slot is standard on newer saws, or did I just buy the wrong sled?
