Switched to a track saw after watching a guy do trim work in 20 minutes flat

I always thought track saws were just a fancy way to waste money. Then I saw this guy at a job site in Denver rip through a full sheet of plywood and then cut trim pieces without even moving the sheet. He did a whole 8x4 panel into cabinet parts in like 20 minutes. I timed myself doing the same cuts with my circular saw and a straight edge, took me almost an hour. That was enough to convince me. I grabbed a basic DeWalt track saw on sale for $350 and in my experience it's worth every penny for repeat cuts. Has anyone else made the switch from a circular saw to a track saw and found it changed how they work?

$350 is still a lot of money for a saw that does the same thing as a circular saw. I get that it saved you 40 minutes on one sheet of plywood, but how often are you really spending an hour cutting up full sheets? For most people, especially guys working out of a pickup truck, that's maybe once a month. Not saying it's a bad tool, just not sure it's the life-changer people make it out to be.

Did you count your new saw paying for itself in saved time or just the 40 minutes of your life back?
