That crown molding corner in Tulsa taught me to stop guessing
Last month I was fitting crown in a 1920s house near downtown Tulsa and my miter saw was off by a quarter degree. I kept fighting the wall until the homeowner's dad came out and said "the walls ain't square, so your corners can't be either." I cut both pieces a hair long and sprung them together with some CA glue, looked perfect after 20 minutes. Has anyone else found that trusting the wall over the level saves you grief, or do you always scribe the first piece?

Wait, you mean my level's not the boss of me? That's tragic news for my drywall.
