Wasted $400 on a tracksaw that I barely use now
About 2 years ago I convinced myself I needed a fancy tracksaw for cutting down sheet goods in my garage. I watched all these YouTube videos and thought it would change my life. Spent $400 on a decent model, plus another $60 for a longer track. First few cuts were nice, but honestly my circular saw with a good straight edge does the same thing just as fast. The tracksaw sits in its case 95% of the time now. I could have put that money toward a better router or something I actually use every week. Anyone else have a tool they bought thinking it'd be a game changer but it ended up collecting dust?

Four hundred bucks is a lot for a garage queen. I'd sell it on FB Marketplace and put that money toward something you'll actually grab every weekend.

Ugh I feel this so hard... I bought a compact pancake air compressor a few years ago thinking I'd use it for brad nails and small trim work but it just sits there because my battery powered nailer does the job fine. @jesse_williams62 is right about selling it though, I finally listed mine on Craigslist for half what I paid and someone snapped it up in two days. Sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and put that cash toward something you'll actually reach for...

Four hundred is steep for something just collecting dust. I'm curious though, @jesse_williams62, what kind of things do you actually end up grabbing every weekend that makes the compressor feel like a waste? Like is it mostly framing and big stuff or are you doing a lot of small finish work too? I feel like if you're mainly doing trim and cabinets, battery tools rule now, but for anything that runs longer than 5 minutes, the corded compressor still wins for me on cost and reliability.
