Blew $200 on a power stretcher that just collects dust now

I bought that fancy power stretcher from the supply house thinking it would save my knees but it's too heavy for residential work. Anyone else stick with manual kickers or did I just get the wrong brand?

@david562 you got it backwards, those power stretchers are perfect for residential because of the thin carpet.

...and I read somewhere that those power stretchers are actually designed for commercial carpet, not the thin stuff we put in houses. That's probably why it feels like overkill. I borrowed one once from a buddy and after dragging it up two flights of stairs I swore I'd never buy one. My manual kicker does the job fine for residential, I just tape a piece of felt on the end to protect baseboards. Honestly the only time I see power stretchers used is by guys doing huge open rooms or commercial lobbies.

@david562 yeah that felt tape trick is a lifesaver, I do the same thing.
