Debate: knife stretcher or power stretcher for long hallways?

I used a power stretcher for 8 years on every job. Then I did a 40 foot hallway in Denver last month and the carpet kept buckling near the middle. An old timer told me to try a knee kicker with a knife stretcher for those long runs. Fixed it right up. Now I'm wondering if power stretchers are even worth it in narrow spaces. What do you all use for tight halls?

Eight years man, that's wild. I tried a power stretcher for maybe a week before I threw it in the corner and grabbed my knife. The control you get on a long run is night and day, I'd never go back to that clunky thing. You missed out on so much smooth stretching and less rework, honestly kinda hurts my soul a little. What finally made you switch over, did someone just hand you a knife one day?
