Drove past an old install from 1999, still looks fresh

Went back to a condo complex in Tampa we did back in the late 90s, the commercial tile we laid is still holding up with zero callbacks. These new glue-down carpets barely last 5 years before the seams pop. Anyone else see their old work outlast the stuff being sold today?

Read somewhere that a lot of the new materials are made cheaper on purpose, so you have to replace them sooner. It’s crazy how a 25 year old floor can outwork something fresh out of the box.
