I finally realized why some guys swear by glue-down methods over tack strip
Overheard a guy at the supply house say glue-down is 'for hacks' and I've been thinking about how much wasted time I've seen on tack strip jobs where the edges curl up after a year.

Oh man, I gotta tell you about my buddy Dave. He was all in on glue-down for his basement remodel, swore it was the future. So he's down there, spreading glue, laying carpet, feeling like a pro. Then his phone rings and he reaches for it, but his knee had found a fresh puddle of adhesive. He was stuck for a good 10 minutes, just kneeling there, cursing, while his wife had to come in with a putty knife and some mineral spirits to free him. She still brings it up at every family dinner. But I gotta say, that carpet never curled up once, not even in the high traffic spots. So maybe he was onto something, even if it cost him some dignity.

Man, I tried glue-down once and ended up gluing my knee to the floor for a solid 45 minutes. Still not sure if that was faster than tack strip or just a new kind of dumb. But hey, at least my edges haven't curled up yet.

Honestly I used to think glue-down was just asking for trouble, but this kinda makes me wanna try it. Sounds way less annoying than fighting with tack strips lol.
