Just realized I've cut over 10,000 yards of carpet in my career
I mean, I was cleaning out my truck and found an old logbook from like 8 years ago. Added it up with my recent jobs and the number just kinda hit me. Anyone else ever stop and think about how much material you've actually handled?

Ever have one of those moments where you just stare at a number and it feels totally unreal? I did that with lumber once, figured out I'd moved enough board feet to build a small neighborhood. It's weird how the normal day to day stuff adds up to something that sounds huge when you actually stop and add it all together. Makes you look at your hands different for a minute.

Wait, you counted the board feet? That's some next level math for a Tuesday.

My first year on a framing crew. We went through something like 80,000 linear feet of two-by-fours. Just kept cutting and nailing. Then the boss showed us the total order for the whole subdivision. It was a number that didn't make sense. All that wood, just from us showing up every day. Your hands get sore but you don't really see it until you look at the pile at the end.
