Overheard a homeowner say stretch-ins are just for looks

I heard this guy at the supply house telling someone that power stretching is a waste of time and you can just kick the carpet in. I had to bite my tongue but it got me thinking, how many people out there skip the power stretcher and blame us when it wrinkles up in three months? Anyone run into customers who think they know better than the tools we use?

Honestly, I can't believe nobody's called them out on that yet. Ngl, I watched one of those videos where the guy was bragging about his work, and you could literally see the puckering around the door frame on the final shot. Tbh, I bet half those jobs look like garbage after a week. It's all just a show for clicks, not actual skill.
