Power stretcher vs knee kicker on a 20 foot hallway in Boise, night and day difference
Last Tuesday I had to stretch a 20 foot hallway of berber in Boise and my knee kicker was leaving ripples near the doorways no matter how hard I worked it. A guy I work with brought his power stretcher and we had the same hall tight in 15 minutes with zero wrinkles. My knees thanked me too, since I wasn't doing that stupid hop every 3 feet anymore. I get that a kicker is faster for closets and small rooms, but for long runs I am never going back. Anyone else made the switch, or do some of you still prefer the kicker for everything under 30 feet?
Man, those ripples near doorways hit home. I fought the same battle in a long living room last month and my knee kicker just could not get the carpet tight enough at the seams. I was hopping along every few feet too and my knees were killing me by the end of the day. Watching a power stretcher knock it out in 15 minutes would have made me sick. Closets and small rooms still make sense with a kicker, but for long halls there is no contest.
