Serious question, has anyone else had a pad fail from using the wrong adhesive?
I used to just grab whatever glue was on sale for my rebond pads, but last month in a Phoenix condo job, the whole thing started bunching up after a week. The customer said it felt like walking on a waterbed, and I had to redo the entire 800 square foot install. What specific adhesive brands are you guys trusting for hot climate work now?

Stella's right about the heat cooking cheap glue, but honestly I've had the high-temp pro stuff fail too. For me, it's way more about the prep than the brand on the bucket.

Oh man, that Phoenix heat will cook a cheap adhesive into a gummy mess every time. Learned that lesson the hard way on a tile job years back. You absolutely cannot use the bargain bin stuff when it's over a hundred degrees. These days it's only the high-temp rated stuff from the pro suppliers for me, nothing from the big box stores. That waterbed feeling is the worst, just means the whole bond is letting go. Total nightmare to fix.

Yeah, and don't forget the subfloor prep. In that heat, if there's even a tiny bit of dust or old adhesive residue left, it acts like a release paper. The glue can't grab onto anything solid.
