Ray has been laying carpet for 30 years and he told me a knee kicker alone would bite me on a 12x14 bedroom over concrete in Bakersfield. I ignored him because the room was small and I wanted to save the $40 rental, and by the third week the carpet had ripples near the closet door. Had to pull it all back up and redo it with a power stretcher, which cost me a full Saturday and a ticked off customer. Now I want to know, do you guys power stretch every room no matter the size, or is there a square footage where a kicker is honestly fine?
