Showerthought: dropped $340 on a power stretcher and it saved my back on a 1400 sq ft rental in Dayton
Bought a used Crain power stretcher off a guy in Dayton for $340 after doing 1400 sq ft of berber by hand and waking up unable to stand up straight. I figured it would just be a backup tool, but I pulled it out on a tight rental job off Salem Ave and knocked the whole thing out in a day and a half with way less knee kicker work. My knees still hate me at 52 but my back stopped screaming, so that money was worth every penny. The catch is you need the right pins and a good tail block or you will punch through cheap pad and wreck the stretch. Anyone got a trick for getting power stretcher pins to grab on that slick rebond pad without tearing it?
