Tackless strip vs glue down on a 12x15 concrete slab, and I picked wrong
Did a basement job in Gary two months back, 12 by 15 room, bare concrete. Customer wanted padding under it so I went tackless strip and pad, which meant drilling 40 anchors into that slab, and half of them spun loose because the concrete was old and crumbly. Should have just glued the carpet down direct and skipped the pad talk altogether. I spent three extra hours on anchors that never grabbed right, then charged the guy for a call back when a strip popped. Glue down would have been done in a day and stuck like it was welded. Anyone here glue down basements by default, or do you still fight the strip when the customer wants that soft feel?
