Tried the glue-down method on a tricky curved staircase... actually worked better than the tack strip nightmare I usually do

Had this weird curved staircase in a house in Arlington last month. Client wanted carpet, and normally I'd fight with tack strips and cut every single piece by hand on those curves. Was about to lose my mind after 3 hours. Saw a guy on YouTube try full glue-down on stairs and figured why not. Used a heavy duty spray adhesive and it laid down perfect in like 45 minutes. No squeaking, no gaps. Anyone else try this on weird stairs?

Wait, you did a full glue-down on a curved staircase without wanting to throw tools out the window? That's impressive. I tried it once on a spiral staircase in a rental property and it was the easiest job I've ever done. The spray adhesive I used grabbed instantly and I didn't have to fight with a single tack strip. It stayed down perfectly for two years before I sold the place. I'm never going back to the old way on curves, it's just not worth the headache.

Did you use the spray that comes in the orange can? I read somewhere that some of those spray adhesives have different heat ratings or something and that's why some of them peel up. Honestly, I heard a guy on a podcast say you gotta check if it's meant for vertical applications or it'll slide down the risers over time. Ngl, I'm tempted to try it on a tricky set I have coming up since tack strips on curves always end up looking like a hack job on my end.
