Warning: Padding shipments are always behind these days.
I mean, the last three jobs I booked had the padding arrive a day late. It messes up my timeline and I have to push everything back. Maybe it's just me, but dealing with annoyed customers because of this is really frustrating. Idk why the suppliers can't get it together.

Have you tried putting in your padding order way earlier than you actually need it? I started adding three extra buffer days to my timeline for any job that needs padded materials. Then I call the supplier two days after ordering to confirm the ship date. If it's still late, at least my schedule has some wiggle room built in. It's extra work on the front end, but it saves a ton of stress later. Still annoying that we have to plan around their unreliability though.

Why do we always have to plan around their mistakes? Building in that buffer time is a solid way to handle the constant delays. It's a shame that extra work falls on us, but at least it keeps projects on track.
