A guy on r/cereal ripped my Lucky Charms ranking apart and he was right about one thing
So I posted my tier list of cereal mascots last month, and I put Lucky the Leprechaun way down at the bottom. Just never liked the guy. Well, one commenter went off on me, but the part that stuck was when he said I was ranking the mascot and not the commercial. I went back and watched about 14 old Lucky Charms ads on YouTube that night, and wow, he had a point. The 1980s ones where Lucky outsmarts all those kids looking for his cereal are way better than I remembered. The mascot himself is still kinda smug for my taste, but the ads do more with him than like 90% of mascots get to do at all. I moved him up to my B tier and updated the post. Has anyone else had their mascot opinion flipped by going back and watching the old commercials instead of just judging the character?
