I finally found a painting partner in a park, but are chance art buddies reliable?
Some say random meetups spark the best projects, others think they fizzle out fast, so where do you stand?

Short take: Depends on their follow through.
Longer reply: Honestly, it's a total gamble. In my experience, the spark is real at first but keeping that momentum is tough without any real plan. People get busy, the excitement fades, and you're left trying to coordinate with someone whose schedule you don't know. It can work if you both make it a hard priority right away, but that's rare. More often than not, it just sort of quietly falls apart.

Ever had that happen? Totally agree with @eva_adams68 about that initial spark. Had one of those myself and the momentum just sort of peters out after a week.

My last one fizzled out so quietly I'm not even sure it's officially over... we're just two calendar invites lost in the ether, forever pending. The follow through was more of a gentle suggestion.
