Question about the guy who sat next to me on the 36 bus last Thursday

I was running late for a job interview over near Central and this older guy just started chatting about how he fixed his own washing machine for $40 instead of paying $300. He gave me three tips before I got off and I actually got the job. Has anyone else had a random bus conversation that turned something around for them?

Yeah that thing about the short cut from @viola_ward is exactly like what happened to me. This guy on the 14 told me about a side door at the library that's always unlocked and saves 5 minutes of walking. Been using it for months now. It's wild how a random stranger can just hand you a life hack like that.

Wow, my friend had a similar thing happen with a bus driver who told her the best shortcut to her new job's parking lot.
