Ran into my old barber at a gas station and he fixed my day
Stopped at a Shell off I-35 to grab a soda around 2pm on Tuesday and this older guy in front of me dropped his wallet, papers flying everywhere. I helped him pick it up and realized it was Mr. Alvarez, who cut my hair for like 8 years before he retired in 2019. He remembered my name and asked about my mom's knee surgery, which was wild because I barely recognized him without his shop apron. We talked for 20 minutes and he gave me advice about my job stress that just hit different coming from him. Has anyone else had a random run-in like that where someone from your past shows up at the worst time and makes it better?

Ran into my third grade teacher at a Dollar Tree and she still called me a chatterbox.

Teachers remember stuff from decades ago, it's kind of their whole deal. @abbyg60 you're acting like she pulled out your old report card and read it aloud or something. She probably just said it in passing because that's literally what teachers say to former students, it's like a reflex. The real question is why does it bother you? Being a chatterbox as a kid is normal, most of us were. Teachers don't mean it as an insult, they just remember the loud kids because they were the ones who kept things interesting. I'd be more worried if she didn't remember you at all lol.
