Rant: I almost skipped the line at the hardware store last Tuesday
I was in a huge rush to get some mulch for a job and had to choose between waiting in the long checkout line or asking a random guy in the aisle for help. I asked the guy, named Ben, and he not only showed me a better mulch brand but also gave me his card because he needed his yard redone! Now he's my newest client. Has anyone else gotten a job from just talking to a stranger in public?

Honestly that's a pretty sweet way to land a new client, huh?

My barber found his accountant just chatting at the dog park last month.

The dog park on 7th street is where my neighbor's poodle got loose last year. That place is a total circus, not where I'd look for a financial expert. I can't imagine trusting someone with my taxes after a chat near the poop bags. The whole thing just seems like a very weird way to find a professional.
