Rant: That simple printer issue that ate my whole Saturday

I was trying to help my dad set up his new wireless printer last weekend. The instructions said it would take 10 minutes but I spent almost 5 hours on it. Turned out the problem was a setting buried three menus deep that disabled wifi connections after 11 PM. Why would anyone want that feature on a home printer? Has anyone else dealt with a supposedly simple fix that just ballooned into a full day project?

Man that sounds frustrating, those hidden settings are the worst kind of time trap.

Is it really that big of a deal though @theac63? Hidden settings are annoying, but usually there's a youtube video that shows you exactly what to click. Most of the time it takes less than 5 minutes to dig up.
