Stopped for a coffee and ended up with a job lead

I was running late and almost skipped my usual coffee stop, but went in anyway. The guy ahead of me in line saw my old company logo on my bag and asked if I was looking for work, his firm was hiring. Started a new position there last week. Anyone else get a break from a random chat in line somewhere?

I mean, that's cool but it feels like luck more than a real plan. I wouldn't count on it.

Luck is just being ready when a chance shows up. That guy saw a logo and started a chat because you were there and open to it. Calling it only luck ignores the part you played. You showed up and were approachable. That's a real skill, not just a random break.
