That one guy at Home Depot changed how I buy paint

Last Thursday I was grabbing some paint for my living room and this older employee named Dave stopped me from grabbing the cheap stuff. He explained how the $18 flat paint would need 3 coats but the $38 paint with primer would cover in 1 coat. Saved me like 2 hours of work and the color looks way better. Anyone else get good tips from random store workers?

Jump into the conversation because that Home Depot guy is a perfect example of how real world expertise (not just online reviews) actually saves you time and money. It's like when mechanics or deli guys or even the person at the hardware store tell you what not to buy, that advice comes from seeing people mess up for years. Most of the time, that random employee's tip is worth more than five YouTube tutorials combined.

yall ever had a cashier at the auto parts store talk you out of buying new wiper blades because your old ones just needed a quick clean? Saved me like 30 bucks and the guy showed me how to pop the rubber off right there in the parking lot. Definitely more useful than the 8 step YouTube video that started with a sponsored shill for some overpriced wax.

Wait, you're telling me a Home Depot employee actually knows what they're talking about and isn't just pointing at a shelf? lol That's wild. I had a guy at Lowes tell me to skip the expensive specialty paint thinner and just use mineral spirits for cleaning my brushes, saved me like 15 bucks easy. YouTube would've had me buying some fancy brand name junk for sure.
