Back in 2019 I had to pick between driving 4 hours by myself or taking the 11 pm Greyhound for $28, and I went with the bus to save gas money. Gus sat next to me outside Toledo and talked my ear off about his 32 years on a mail route, then gave me his card and said his daughter ran the record store two blocks from my hotel. I stopped in the next morning and she comped me a used copy of Rumours, and we still trade mixtapes through the mail now. Curious if anyone else has a chance meeting on public transit that turned into a real friendship.
