Watched a guy go from zero rhythm to leading a conga line in about 45 minutes at a bar last Friday
Some stranger pulled him aside during a cover band set and just tapped out the beat on his shoulder for four songs straight. Has anyone else seen a random person fix someone's timing issue that fast?

My son's drum teacher did this exact thing with a kid who couldn't keep a beat to save his life... just sat there tapping the rhythm on his shoulder for ten minutes and suddenly the kid was playing along with the metronome. It's like some people need to feel the pulse physically before their brain can process it. I've seen the same thing with dance lessons where someone will put their hand on your lower back to guide you through a turn and it just clicks. Something about that physical connection cuts through all the overthinking and lets the body learn faster than the head ever could. You don't see it much because most people are too shy to actually touch a stranger like that, but when it happens it's kind of magical.

That thing you said about "some people need to feel the pulse physically before their brain can process it" is spot on. I had a buddy in college who could not clap along to a song to save his life, total rhythm hole. One night at a house party, this girl just grabbed his hands and started moving them to the beat, no words, just guiding. After about two minutes he was bobbing his head and clapping right on time the rest of the night. It's wild how touch can just unlock something in your body that your ears and eyes couldn't figure out on their own. Makes you wonder how many people would be better dancers or musicians if strangers weren't so afraid to just help someone out like that.
