A regular in the chatter lounge told me to lurk for a month before posting, and it backfired big time
Back in March I joined this lounge and a regular named Dave who has like 4,000 posts messaged me to just lurk for 30 days before typing anything. So I did, and I read every thread, and by the time I finally posted a hello I felt like I was walking into a party where everyone already knew each other. My intro got 2 replies and one of them was Dave telling me I should have jumped in sooner. Now I try to welcome every new person in here the same day they show up, because waiting around just makes it weird. Did lurking first help any of you, or did it just make it harder to start talking?
