Had to pick between a gas dryer and electric last week - went gas and honestly I get it now
I had to make the call when my old dryer finally gave up the ghost after 12 years. The gas model cost $120 more upfront, and I stared at the price tags for like 20 minutes in the aisle trying to decide. My buddy Mike kept saying gas dries faster and costs less to run, so I bit the bullet and got the gas one. First load was a set of thick towels that usually took two cycles in the old electric dryer. They came out bone dry in 35 minutes flat, no joke. I checked my gas bill last month and it only went up about $8 compared to what I was spending on electric for the old one. Anyone else made the switch and notice a real difference in their utility bills?

My buddy Tom actually did the exact same thing last year and he wouldn't shut up about it for weeks. He kept bragging about how his towels came out so fluffy and dry in like half the time his old electric one took. Funny thing is his electric bill dropped almost $15 while his gas bill only went up like $6 so he saved about $9 a month overall. He also said the clothes felt less wrinkled coming out which I thought was just a coincidence but he swore by it. The part that got me was when he timed a heavy load of jeans and hoodies and it finished in 28 minutes compared to 45 on his old dryer. I'm still on electric myself but watching him brag made me seriously consider switching next time mine dies.

Same thing happened to me, it's honestly night and day switching over.
