I fell for a $30 'AI-powered' resume builder that did nothing useful
It just shuffled my bullet points around and added buzzwords like 'synergized' and 'optimized' and I still got zero callbacks after two weeks. Has anyone else tried one of those and actually gotten a job from it?

Yeah my buddy tried one and it basically just turned his 2 page resume into 3 pages of nonsense like "leveraged cross-platform synergy" for his time as a cashier at a grocery store. I think the only thing those AI builders are good at is making you feel like you did something productive without actually helping. I'd honestly get more value from asking a friend to look at your resume over a beer than feeding it to a bot.

Used to think those things were legit, now I'm with you.

Used to think they were garbage until I watched my cousin's boring resume go from "stocked shelves" to listing actual systems he worked with and the specific numbers behind his stocking speed. The trick is you gotta give the damn thing the right information first instead of just dumping a PDF and hoping for magic. A buddy of mine who manages hiring at a mid sized company told me half the resumes they get now are formatted exactly like what those AI tools spit out which means they all look clean and professional even if the experience is thin.
