Just found out how much data streaming eats up in a month

I was checking my phone bill yesterday and saw I went over my data cap by 8GB. Turns out I was streaming Netflix on my lunch breaks at school for maybe 20 minutes a day. Did the math and it came out to about 15GB a month just from that one habit. Anyone else get blindsided by their data usage like that?

Swear I almost choked when I read "15GB a month just from 20 minutes of Netflix each day" because that's wild to me. I use maybe 2GB total in a month with all my usual browsing and Spotify stuff. Makes me wonder how many people are out there getting hit with overage fees without even realizing it.

@emery199 at least you're not the one crying over 15GB a month. i'd need a second mortgage to afford that kind of data plan where i live. streaming netflix for 20 mins on lunch is basically paying for a whole other subscription at that point. might as well just download episodes at home and save yourself the headache. mobile data is a scam, change my mind.
