Met a guy at the local coffee shop who changed how I ground my beans
I was at Brews & Bites on Main Street last Tuesday, just grabbing my usual morning drip. This older guy, maybe 70, saw me order and said, 'You know, that grind is way too fine for that machine.' I laughed it off, but he pulled out a small bag of his own beans and showed me the difference. I tried his coarser grind the next day at home, and my morning cup actually had flavor instead of just bitter. Has anyone else gotten random coffee advice from a stranger that actually worked?

Did the laundromat guy also happen to buy you a new grinder on the spot? I mean, @felix_hayes64's buddy Dave probably thought he was just getting a good deal on his laundry, not life-changing coffee advice. Maybe all the best tips come from places you'd least expect, like between the dryers and the espresso machine.
