That week in March where absolutely everything went wrong at the print shop

Started Monday with the big color copier jamming on a 200-page rush order for a law firm downtown. I spent 2 hours pulling mangled paper out of the rollers and the client called me 3 times asking where their stuff was. Then Tuesday the guillotine cutter blade went dull halfway through trimming a stack of business cards and left jagged edges on half of them. Wednesday was the worst - the internet went down for 4 hours and I had to tell people I couldn't take their PDFs over the phone. By Friday I was triple-checking every single job and still missed a typo on a batch of flyers that cost me $150 to reprint out of pocket. Has anyone else had a week like that where you just wanted to unplug the machines and walk out?

Did your guillotine blade give out the same week mine did, right when I had to cut 500 church bulletins?

That 150 bucks out of pocket stings because it's the kind of mistake that happens when you're running on empty by Friday. I gotta ask though, why are we the ones eating the cost for a typo the customer should have caught on their proof? Every time I hand over a final PDF I make them sign a slip that says "I checked this, it's right." They miss something, it's their dime. Saved my butt more than once. You might want to think about that for next time.
