Why does nobody talk about the volume on a chatter lounge call?
I was on a group call with 5 people from the lounge last night, and someone said my voice kept cutting out. I realized I've been holding my phone like a foot from my face this whole time, for months. I moved it closer and they all said it was crystal clear. It's so simple, but I guess I thought the mic would pick me up from anywhere. Has anyone else had a basic tech thing they were doing wrong that messed up the chat?

Oh man, that reminds me of when I used my webcam mic for everything. The audio was always so tinny and full of keyboard clicks. Took me forever to realize I had to manually pick my good mic in the settings for each app. It was right there the whole time.

Same thing happened to me @the_derek but with my gaming headset. I had this whole setup with a decent mic and everything, but I kept using the built-in laptop mic for months because I never bothered to check the settings. My friends would always complain about the background noise and I was just like "idk man, it sounds fine on my end." Finally one day I was messing around in Discord and saw I could pick a different input device. Felt like such a dummy when I realized my expensive mic was just sitting there doing nothing the whole time.

Remembered I had my laptop mic muted for a year because of a zoom meeting. Spent months wondering why my voice sounded so quiet on every single discord call, even bought a new headset. Felt like a total genius when I finally noticed the little red slash through the mic icon.
