Am I the only one who thinks canned beans are a ripoff compared to soaking dry ones?
Last week I made a big pot of chili for $3.50 using a $1 bag of dry pinto beans instead of three $1.50 cans, and it tasted way better and lasted three extra meals, has anyone else noticed the price difference adds up fast?

Nah @vera_palmer, dry beans just hit different and save way more money.

Buddy of mine swears by dry beans but completely forgot to soak them one night before a big family cookout. Had to scramble and use canned black beans from the back of his pantry. Said the texture was off but nobody at the party noticed or cared. He still buys dry beans but keeps a backup can now. Convenience wins sometimes.

Respectfully, canned beans have saved me more times than dry ones. I keep a few cans in the pantry for last-minute meals, like when I'm throwing together tacos after work and don't have six hours to soak pintos. The price difference is real but convenience has a cost too.
